The Rainbow Spats were one of our most iconic early releases. During a time when the jiujitsu market was really taking itself too seriously, we thought that multicoloured tights would be a great idea – and they were. We sold a lot, and this was at a time when most jiujitsu brands still didn’t even have tights or spats as part of their lineup.
No doubt Shinya Aoki had a hand in spreading their popularity as grappling attire around the world, and we took that global interest and made it into a product you could actually buy.
Now in our 10th anniversary year, we have revisited the best-selling Rainbow spats and updated them, with our custom fit and much improved materials and waistband. We applied a black and white branding band to separate out the rainbow colours but other than that we have not messed with the formula too much.
