Scrambler Tom Halpin burst onto the world jiujitsu scene with back to back submissions on Polaris, and a successful ADCC trials run that got him into the ADCC 2019 World Championships in California.
Here, Tom runs through some of his most successful jiujitsu back attacks.
“The idea for the series was to share the knowledge and depth I’ve developed in finishing from the back, and also share a bit of the learning process I use. The series is formatted so that it starts from the end, i.e. full control and a fully locked submission, and progresses backwards towards more neutral positions, while fixing any problems along the way. It would be most effective to watch one video per week and implement the tactics and strategies during specific training, before adding on the details from the following video, and so on. Hopefully this will give people some new ideas for the position and their training methods overall, as this process can be applied to most positions/submissions to develop confidence, control and the skills to be successful at the highest level.”
