[VIDEO] Just strongman things, with Dan “Rapsberry Ape” Strauss Matt Benyon 8 years ago I was unable to compete at the euro nogi due to a niggling injury. So I decided to put my self outside my comfort zone in a different way. Yesterday I competed in the 24th British grip championships. Run by grip legend David Horne and his wife Elizabeth. It was the first time competing in grip sports and actually any strength sport. It was pretty last minute so wasn’t much in terms of preparation but I was happy with my performance regardless. I came in 5th place behind some world class athletes. The events were: double overhand thumbless axle lift, gold bar pinch, reverse bolt bending, half penny lift, two hand pinch and finishing with a braced bar snap. The atmosphere at the competition was incredible with all the athletes helping each other despite meeting hours before. David runs this competition in his own garden and him and Elizabeth are fantastic hosts as well as world class grip athletes. Both of which were competing and on excellent form. I look forward to competing again!A post shared by Daniel Strauss (@raspberry_ape) on Apr 2, 2017 at 10:53am PDT Featured products:Scramble Box Logo Hoodie – Navy £35
