Scramblog New Scramble BJJ Gi – Sukajan
We have just released our latest jiu jitsu gi, the Sukajan or Souvenir Jacket.
The inspiration for these gis came from the Japanese fashion item sukajan, which is also known as a souvenir jacket. The souvenir jacket has a very interesting history – when American soldiers were stationed in Japan, before returning home they would take their uniform (flight jacket, for example) to a local seamstress and ask them to embroider it with something to remember the country by. The embroidery was usually some traditional Japanese imagery, such as tigers, panthers, dragons, pheonix, or Mount Fuji…
We took this idea and deconstructed it for a jiu jitsu gi. The Sukajan BJJ gi comes in two flavours, Panther and Dragon. The panther gi is white and the dragon gi is black. Both are made to the highest specifications with very crisp embroidery and fine lines.
The artwork comes from the highly talented Feroze Mcleod, who we have worked with a number of times. We look forward to working with him more in the future.
This gi is a midweight pearl weave top with midweight canvas bottoms.
