Scramble introduced the concept of grappling spats to the UK market when we first started, bringing the idea over from Japan, and we’ve been refining them ever since. Our founder is a black belt who trains several times a week, always in Scramble kit, and our spats are designed for exactly that: real, regular training rather than a product shoot.

We’re renowned for our quality, and it’s usually the first thing people say when they pull a pair on. We use specialist polyester blends that resist pilling and hold their shape and compression year after year, rather than bagging out or going thin. Our sizing and fit are clearly explained on every product, so you know exactly what you’re getting.

Spats also cover far more skin than shorts alone, which means less bare contact with the mat. That’s a genuine hygiene advantage in a sport where ringworm and staph spread easily through skin-to-mat and skin-to-skin contact, and it cuts down on mat burn at the same time. They’re ideal worn on their own, layered under your BJJ shorts, or under a gi for warmth when the weather turns cooler.
