[VIDEO] Metamoris Pro – terrible name, awesome event
If there was ever a prize for “Best professional BJJ event with a terrible name but a great lineup held in San Diego next month”, then Metamoris would definitely win it. I am not sure who would give the prize out or what kind of prize it would be, but Metamoris would easily win.
Metamoris. Sounds like a prototype British car from the 1950s but it’s actually an event that has got the BJJ community collectively salivating.
All the fights look amazing, but in my typical Pride FC fanboy style, I’m looking forward to Galvao vs. Gracie the most – because it has a great story. Andre is one of the best competitors of his generation, at the pinnacle of “sport jiu jitsu”. Ryron is the son of Rorion, the side of the Gracie family that rarely ventures outside of their own in-house tournaments and training halls. It’s going to be a real clash of styles, especially when points are taken out of the equation. I’ve seen videos of Ryron rolling without a care in the world about being mounted or having knee on belly, as he always gets the sub in the end.
Collected below are the three best videos the event has released so far. Kudos to them, they’re doing a great job of generating interest.
Roger Gracie, Buchecha, Caio Terra, Jeff Glover, Andre Galvao, Ryron Gracie… YEAH!
